Job Description of Senior Manager Vehicle Gateway Engineer

Purpose

Role is responsible for defining and validating gateway requirements for connectivity (telematics) for DICV vehicles and cloud infrastructure requirements for this functionality. Role requires to coordinate and finalize all the requirement needed by DICV for defining future requirements.

Description

Proficiency in developing software for embedded systems.
Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, and MOST.
Experience with diagnostics protocols like UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services).
Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
Experience with secure communication protocols, encryption, and key management.
Experience with AUTOSAR, FreeRTOS, or QNX.
Skills in integrating various ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and ensuring seamless communication.
Experience with system-level debugging and troubleshooting.
Understanding of automotive hardware components and their interfaces. Familiarity with microcontrollers and automotive-grade processors.
Experience in all stages of the SDLC, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and maintenance.
Skills in developing, securing, and managing APIs for communication between automotive gateways and cloud services.
Knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and API gateways.
Knowledge of IoT architectures and protocols. Experience in designing and implementing IoT solutions that connect automotive gateways to cloud infrastructure.
Skills in developing and executing test plans for automotive gateway systems.
Experience with tools like CANoe, CANalyzer, and other testing and validation tools.
Proficiency in working with cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Understanding of cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and databases.
Skills in handling and processing large volumes of data generated by connected vehicles.
Experience with data storage solutions, data lakes, and data warehousing.
Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, VPN, and MQTT.
Experience with secure and reliable data transmission between vehicles and cloud infrastructure.
Skills in implementing monitoring solutions to ensure the performance and reliability of cloud-based systems.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance requirements.
Conception, identification and piloting of new methods, tools and processes for technology and product development through industry benchmarking and evaluation
Deepen Practice with PoC/ PoV, Whitepaper and Business case doc on growth and sustenance of new verticals. Assist in preparation of Board /Opcom presentation documents for relevant approvals.
Strategic visioning – Assist in evaluation of proposals, technologies, creation of product roadmap aligned to Business vision, chalking out strategy for momentum and bending the curve.

Qualifications

BE/ME with Minimum 3 years of experience & Knowledge of Computers, Networking and Programming
Knowledge of the automotive market and industry-wide best practices. Relevant experience in the automotive industry, particularly in roles related to gateway systems or connected vehicle solutions.
Experience with cloud infrastructure management and IoT solutions.
Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
Certifications in automotive systems or embedded systems design.
Excellent communication skills to convey design ideas and concepts to cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams to achieve design goals.
Entrepreneurial thinking and ability to work with a varying level of ambiguity and uncertainty.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; proven ability to think strategically.
Adept at managing key stakeholders (internal and external), working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; confidence/ability to work with senior stakeholders.
Proactive approach, entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with ambiguity
Basic experience in Technology Development and Product Development and Leadership and project sponsor outreach
