02 posts of Chief Controller of Mines in pay Level-15 in the pay matrix (Rs.182200- 224100) is vacant in Indian Bureau of Mines under the Ministry of Mines which is to be filled up by deputation (including short term contract).

3. Duties in brief of Chief Controller of Mines in IBM are as under:

a. Supervising and co-ordinating the work pertaining to the entire Mineral Development and Regulation Division, Planning and Co-ordination Division and other divisions of IBM except ore dressing division. CCOM is responsible for the achievements of the target set for the divisions. guiding the officers of the division in technical and administrative aspects of their work.

b. To issue directives for maintaining uniformity of approach, adoption of clear-cut objectives and monitor and supervise the work of all regional and zonal offices of MDR Division, and all other divisional and sub divisions offices at IBM head quarter including the training and skill development activities at HQ or other places. CCOM is also responsible for all statutory functions and duties as per MMDR ACT and rules made thereunder.

c. To assist the Controller General, IBM in the various technical and administrative matters and give advice on policy formulation, project implementation of various activities of the department in respect of Mineral Development and Regulation (MDR) Division and developmental function of Planning and Co-ordination (P&C) Divisions and other divisions of IBM other than Ore Dressing Division.

(a) (i) holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; or

(ii) with three years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in Level 14 in the pay matrix (Rs. 144200-218200) or equivalent in the parent cadre or Department, and

(b) possessing the following educational qualifications and experience: (a) (i) Bachelor of Engineering or in Mining Engineering from a recognised University or institution

(ii) 18 years experience in core Mining activity in years experience in core Mining activity in:-

(b)(i) Managerial position in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines which includes the period as graduate or management or junior trainee engineer; or

(ii) Government Department dealing with mines and minerals, as Group ‘A’ officer dealing with mines and minerals; or

(c) (a) (i) Master of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognised University or institution;

(ii) 16 years experience in core Mining activity in:-

(b)(i) Managerial position in Metalliferous ( on-Coal) mines which includes the period as graduate or management or junior rainee engineer; or

(ii) Government Department dealing with ines and minerals, as Group ‘A’ officer dealing with mines and minerals.
